Find Petling, Get 200 coins

Playfish really seems to have answered players’ requests by making it easier to make money in Pet Society. This latest lost-and-find feature yields 200 coins and makes activities like racing seem pointless.

Go to your newsfeed and look for a message like this:

Be the first to click on the link, and you’ll receive a bag of dough. I recently found two pets so Sushi got a double reward!

Not only is this good for you, but it’s good for other friends. Publish the news that you found the petling, and your friends will get another link that will give them a chance to claim 20 coins:

However, there seems to be a bug in the system. While there’s plenty of coins being passed around, it’s not certain that the petlings are being returned.

I actually have been testing the petling feature in my second account. (Yes, I have a second account; I made it a few months ago specifically to do pet make-overs.) After my petlings George Clooney and Paris Hilton ran away, I went into my first account, “found” them and got 200 coins for each petling. Then I went back to the second account, expecting to see the petlings again. However, I continued to get this message:

I’m not quite sure what happened. Was Pet Society or Facebook confused because I was switching from one account to another? I republished the lost petling message. Then went back to the first account and repeated all the steps. I got the bags of coins again, but this time, I spent it right away in case the money wasn’t being registered in the game.

I went back to the second account. Still no petlings, even though Sushi had found them twice. I’m not complaining, since this is a great source of income for Sushi, but it would be good to know if others have been able to get their petlings back without paying the penalty fee.

What is your experience with this? Have you lost your petlings and have other people been able to find them for you?

I find it really annoying, I went away for 2 days and both my petlings ran away. I ended up just paying for them to be returned. But at the same time I feel it should take longer for them to feel the need to run away from home, 2 days is a pretty short time for some one to go away for

I’m having the same problem, at least three of my friends have reported to me that they found my petling, yet facebook has yet to return it to me. Also highly annoys me, because I intentionally went in just to feed the thing so it wouldn’t run away last night, come back today and it was gone. And there’s the milk I fed it last night just sitting on the floor — it apparently just fell BEHIND the petling instead of the petling eating it. Feeding the petling is a big problem for me, I have had extreme difficulty in getting the petling to eat the food I give it, my pet is always grabbing it and chugging it down before my petling can get to it or it will just sit on the floor and the petling will ignore it. This is definitely a feature pet society needs to modify a bit.

If your pet starts eating your petlings food, click on the chest, it will stop the pet from eating it. I find if you put the food in front of thier face, almost over their eyes that that is the best way to feed them. Hope this helps!

I really hope I don’t loose my petlings, it sounds like I might not get them back!

That must be a glitch. One of my friends has lost their pet and I found it for them. Next day their pet was back in their house. Maybe you should report it?

By the way, I have the new tiger cub petling, and LOVE her!

    Hi, all!

Well, I lost my petling like two days ago and my boyfriend found it like 5 seconds after I had published the feed on Facebook. He got his coins, I got my pet and we were all happy =)

I lost my petlings 3 days ago and I have had 4 friends tell me they “found” them, but I still get the message that they’re missing every time I log in. Very frustrating. I guess I am going to have to just pay the 400 coins to get them back. :(

I found out that only by chance if you click to try to save the petling you will find it. My friend lost their pet and my other friend found the missing petling. You just need to be lucky that when you click you will find the petlings.
